CAMPTOPIA Information and Forms

Information about our camps including safety, emergencies or illness and special needs.

CAMPTOPIA Pick Up & Drop Off

Campers must be dropped off and signed out each day by a parent, legal guardian or caregiver. Photo ID must be shown each day at pick-up. Please list the names of any adult who is allowed to pick up your child when you register. Due to COVID-19 Camptopia will be checking temperatures, and a screening questionnaire of all campers during drop off.

Please submit these forms prior to the first day at Camptopia:

CAMPTOPIA Safety

At Camptopia, your child’s safety is our first priority. All our camp counsellors and staff are certified in first aid. During registration you’ll be asked if your child requires medication, needs an Epi-pen for allergies or has special needs. Additional information regarding our new health & safety processes will be provided to registered families in  ‘Camptopia Guide’  before the camp start date. As an example, in accordance with the Province’s Ministry of Health guidelines for Summer Day Camps, some of the steps we will be taking include:

  • Groups of no more than 10 people, including staff
  • One group per room
  • Groups will not be able to integrate with other groups or be in the same room at any time
  • Increased sanitization of high touch points
  • Increased hand washing for staff and children
  • Increased sanitization of equipment

**Update July 13: York Region has passed a by-law that has made it mandatory to wear masks in public indoor spaces, including children 5 and older. Effective starting July 17th, 2020 Playtopia will require all campers and parents to wear masks. Please ensure that your child brings a mask to camp and that anyone coming in for drop off or pick up is wearing a mask as well. We would recommend that parents discuss this new rule and practice wearing a mask with their children so that they are comfortable and used to the idea. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.

Emergency or illness:

If you need to contact your child in an emergency, please call Playtopia. If your child gets ill during camp we will contact you right away using the emergency contact information you provided at the time of registration.

Medication:

If your child is taking medication, you’ll need to send your child to camp with that day’s dose of the medication. Camp Counselors will store the medicine in a safe place until it is time for your child to take it. Your child will take the medication on their own, supervised by staff.

ALLERGIES:

If your child requires medication or has an Epipen, you’ll also need to submit these forms when you register:

Our Camps are run as a “nut-aware” environment. This means that all of our staff are trained to use epinephrine self-injectors (Epi-pen, Twinject, Allerject) in the event of a severe allergy attack. As a precaution, your child will be required to carry two unexpired self-injectors while they are at camp. Please include a picture of your child with the Allergy Forms.

SPECIAL NEEDS:

If your child requires special support to participate in camp, their support worker can attend with them at no extra cost.
